Kelly Wilson BSc PgDip
Kelly has always had a natural enthusiasm for health and wellbeing. With more than 20 years’ experience in the leisure industry as a qualified fitness instructor, she has worked extensively in both the private and public sector. She has been a personal trainer since 1995 tailoring specific workouts for individuals and motivating and encouraging safe exercise. She has also trained clients for the Belfast marathon and organised cycle events, as well as tailoring individual conditioning and weight loss programmes.
Kelly graduated with a BSc Food & Nutrition from Queen’s University Belfast and later with a PgDip in Health Promotion and Population Health from Ulster University. In pursuing her academic career, Kelly is currently studying for her PhD at the Ulster Business School; Ulster University; with her research interests in employee health and wellbeing.
Kelly believes that providing a healthy work environment should be a key driver for business, and protecting employee health and wellbeing is critical to long-term business success. She has co-authored on a number of publications and believes that when organisations actively promote staff wellbeing, there are considerable financial gains in terms of a reduction in sickness absence, an improvement in turnover and an increase in overall performance.
